Homemade Honey Marshmallows

Homemade Honey Marshmallows

Marshmallows can seem daunting to make and you may be tempted to purchase them at the store, but store bought marshmallows are incomparable to the real thing. The “clean” marshmallow brand I found at my local health food store makes theirs with syrups, cane sugar, cancer causing and gut destroying carrageenan, soy and vanilla flavor… not even extract.

Homemade marshmallows are made with a handful of ingredients - water, gelatin, honey or maple, salt and your desired flavoring or superfood.

They are so healing and easy to make once you get the hang of it.

How are Marshmallows Healing?

Homemade marshmallows are made with gelatin, which is essentially cooked collagen. Think of the best, nutrient dense ingredient that is produced when you make bone broth.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and plays a key role in numerous bodily functions.

> It’s important for healthy and youthful looking skin, hair and strong nails

> Improves gut function and digestion by keeping fluid in your digestive track

> Keeps appetite in check

> Keeps excess inflammation in check

> Supports healthy bowl movements

> Builds and restores muscle

> Promotes healthy brain function

> Promotes deeper sleep

Not all gelatin is created equal so make sure you purchase one made from grass fed, pasture raised cows free from pesticides, hormones, chemicals, antibiotics, etc.

I have been loving these honey marshmallows in my morning coffee. Yes, I’m 37 weeks pregnant and still drinking coffee. We can get into the health benefits of coffee in another video, but know that pairing coffee with nutrient dense foods or gelatin is way better for you than consuming it on an empty stomach - especially if you are a woman.

My favorite part of the recipe is that they toast!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, which you may the first few times you make it.
